Our goal at Hegarty Piano Studio is to make learning fun & fulfilling for every student so they look forward to lessons, enjoy practicing, and enjoy playing exciting songs. “By the way, G. has taken up guitar and I attended his recital last week which included a lot of beginning pianists as well. Many of them played very (extremely) simple songs while being introduced and accompanied by their teachers. Seeing that recital, hosted by a fancy Bay Area music studio, made me feel even more impressed with you than ever. I love how you help A. choose which songs she wants to learn so she feels a sense of ownership and passion in what she's learning, you give her slightly ambitious songs that are just the right amount of teensy bit challenging, you give her the opportunity to practice overall presentation skills by introducing herself (for example in the holiday performance, as I remember) in addition to playing the songs, you provide some great context at the recital for how long they have been playing and how old they are which made it more engaging to watch with more context for each student's experience, and in regular weekly lessons you repeatedly encourage A. with your praise and support. She is clearly thriving with piano and we are so grateful. Thank you for all you do!”
